The watertight compartments of the hull were recently restored by the installation of seven transverse bulkheads that are fitted with centerline, water tight "dagger type" doors that are equipped with alarms. Vents were upgraded with 6" gooseneck vents with bug screens and occasional power vents installed to provide ventilation for the area. The work was inspected by American Bureau of Shipping personnel. Murphy water sensors alarms were installed in each compartment at the centerline.
Lighting was provided by fluorescent fixtures installed through the length of the hull. The bow compartment houses the barges' pumps, while the midbody compartment serves as extra storage.
